CeraLink ceramic capacitors with higher rated voltage

TDK Group's CeraLinkTM series capacitors have two new Thin-Wide (LP) products with a rated voltage of 900 VDC. Both models are SMT capacitors, capacitance is 0.25μF, and supports different connection types, of which B58031I9254M062 type with L-shaped terminals, size is 10.84x7.85x4mm; and B58031U9254M062 type

It is J-shaped and measures just 7.14 x 7.85 x 4 mm.

The availability of new capacitors has further improved the LP series portfolio, which previously only included 500VDC (1 μF) and 700VDC (0.5 μF) models. All LP models have a compact design, continuous operating temperatures up to 150°C, and can be directly embedded in IGBT modules as snubber capacitors.

CeraLinkTM capacitors use PLZT (lead zirconate titanate) ceramic materials, which have ultra-low parasitic coefficients in addition to these characteristics. For example, these devices have a minimum equivalent series resistance (ESR) value of 12mΩ and an equivalent series inductance (ESL) value of only 2.5nH. In view of this, these capacitors are very suitable for converter topology based on fast switching semiconductors such as GaN or SiC. Compared to traditional capacitor technology, this capacitor has very low voltage overshoot and transient oscillations. In addition, the new LP series capacitors also have a high steady-state ripple current of up to 11.4 ARMS.

We can also provide CeraLinkTM capacitor models with higher capacitance values ​​with soldered pin contacts. This model is designed for a rated voltage of 500V or 700VDC. Capacitance values ​​are 20μF (500V DC) or 10μF (700V DC). The equivalent series inductance (ESL) value is usually about 3.5nH.
