Maxim Dual Channel Transceivers Adopted by Omron for IO-Link Sensors

The MAX14827A helps intelligent sensors implement continuous diagnostics and monitoring to reduce maintenance costs and increase uptime.

Maxim announced that its MAX14827A dual-channel IO-Link® transceiver has been used by Omron to reduce heat dissipation by more than 50% compared to other solutions, making it the smallest solution on the market.

IO-Link is a standard input/output technology that has gained popularity in Europe. At present, the Japanese market is also growing rapidly. In recent years, this technology has been widely concerned as one of the key factors in the construction of intelligent factories. Seamless connection and configuration of various plant sensors through digital communication.

Currently, Omron is expanding its IO-Link sensor portfolio, primarily for optoelectronic and proximity sensors. Omron's IO-Link sensors are equipped with independent identification capabilities, as well as detection anomalies, condition monitoring and other features to help users significantly reduce downtime, reduce the frequency of unexpected failures, and improve the efficiency of configuration changes. It can use PLC and other high-performance controllers to collect key data through the main unit under the EtherCAT protocol to ensure stable operation of the equipment and achieve more intelligent production.
