Automotive OEMs typically limit the current consumption of dashboard modules to less than 100μA in standby mode. Given the full range of functions that a dashboard can perform, the power consumption of the power supply itself must be limited to the overall power budget a part of. The MAX16993 is the only 3-channel solution with quiescent current as low as 25μA in the no-load condition. This PMIC is more efficient than a conventional DC-DC converter, which consumes a few milliamps of current.
