The LTC7810 operates up to 100% duty cycle when the input voltage drops as low as 4.1V, making it ideal for transportation, industrial, robotics and data communications applications.

With output currents up to at least 20A per channel, the output voltage can be set from 1V to 60V with up to 96% efficiency. When the output is regulated at 12V and 3.3V, the device absorbs only 16μA from a 48V input in Sleep mode, making it ideal for systems that are always on. The LTC7810's robust 1Ω N-Channel MOSFET gate driver can be set to 6V, 8V or 10V to allow the use of logic-level or standard threshold MOSFETs for maximum efficiency. To avoid high on-chip power dissipation in high input voltage applications, the LTC7810 can drive the gate of an optional external N-channel MOSFET that acts as a low-dropout linear regulator that powers the IC. The EXTVCC pin allows the LTC7810 to operate from the regulator's output or other available power supply, further reducing power consumption and improving efficiency.

The LTC7810 operates over an optional fixed frequency range of 50kHz to 750kHz and can be synchronized to an external 75kHz to 720kHz clock. At light loads, users have the option of forced continuous operation, pulse skipping, or low ripple Burst Mode® operation. Its current mode architecture provides simple loop compensation, fast transient response and excellent voltage regulation performance. Other features include adjustable input overvoltage lockout and soft start. The LTC7810 is available in a 48-pin, 7mm x 7mm eLQFP thermally enhanced package and has no connection pins for high voltage spans. The device is available in two operating junction temperature versions: extended temperature and industrial temperature versions from -40 ° C to 125 ° C, and high temperature automotive versions from -40 ° C to 150 ° C.
