Allegro MicroSystems, LLC, announces the addition of the ACS732 and ACS733 next generation products to its existing portfolio of high bandwidth current sensors that provide compact, fast and accurate measurement of high frequency currents in DC / DC converters and other switching power supply applications Solutions that Allegro first offered with 1MHz bandwidth and 3600VRMS rated isolation products. The ACS732 and ACS733 are hall-effect-based current sensors with integrated user-configurable over-current fault detection. These features make it ideal for replacing high frequency transformers and current transformers in high voltage applications.
The ACS732 and ACS733 are suitable for applications such as motor control, load sensing and management, switch mode power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection in all market segments, including automotive, industrial, commercial and communications systems. All devices are fully calibrated at Allegro's facilities and provide high-precision solutions over the entire operating temperature range.
The ACS732 and ACS733 are fully integrated, wide-body SOIC-16 packages with a typical resistance of 1mΩ and lower power consumption and bill of materials for easier system integration. The applied current creates a magnetic field across the copper conductive path, which is sensed by the sensor IC and converted to a proportional voltage signal. The differential mode is used when sensing current so that external common-mode fields can be suppressed. Galvanic isolation between the current-carrying pins (pins 1 through 8) and the sensor pins (pins 9 through 16) allows the device to be used for high-side current sensing applications without the need for high-side differential amplifiers, isolators or Other expensive isolation techniques.
The ACS732 and ACS733 are available in a lead-free, small, flat, surface-mount SOIC-16 widebody package with 100% matte tin leadframe plating (suffix "T").
