Analog Devices Expands RadioVerseTM Wireless Technology and Design Ecosystem, Building the Foundation for 4G to 5G Migration

Sunday, May 6, 2018

RadioVerse addresses radio design issues at the circuit, architecture, system, and software levels. This release includes the AD9375 RF transceiver, the latest addition to Analog Devices' highly integrated broadband RF transceiver family.

The AD9375 transceiver can be used in common radio platform designs to achieve a radio frequency range of 300 MHz to 6 GHz. The JESD204B interface supports up to 6 Gbps and consumes less than 5 W. Similar to the award-winning AD9371, the AD9375 contains two 100 MHz receivers, two 250 MHz transmitters, a dual input observation receiver, and a three-input sniffer receiver.

In addition to the AD9375, the RadioVerse transceiver hardware portfolio includes broadband devices for macrocell-to-picocell, femtocell base station architectures, and ultra-sound applications for IoT applications that require long range, network robustness, and long battery life. Low-power narrowband transceiver.

RadioVerse Design and Technology Ecosystem Accelerates Wireless Development

The RadioVerse technology and design ecosystem is designed to help customers reduce radio size, weight and power consumption (SWaP) while maintaining the highest possible radio performance. The ecosystem includes a new small-cell radio reference design that uses the full JESD204B-to-antenna radio signal chain supported by the AD9375. This helps customers to further simplify the design, speed up the product to market, and minimize engineering costs. This reference design was developed in cooperation with the radio solution provider Benetel Ltd. It supports 2x2 20 MHz LTE with an output power of 250 mW per antenna. The total system power consumption is less than 10 W, while the overall size is very small (88 mm x 83 mm) ).

The ADI RadioVerse Prototyping Platform also supports advanced simulation and analysis of transceivers using MATLAB® and Simulink® modeling software, providing device drivers and a complete evaluation system that can be directly connected to the FPGA development platform, as well as third-party hardware that customers can use. The concept quickly became a product launch. In the design environment, customers can access the ADI EngineerZone® online technical support forum to accelerate the time-to-market process, including customer support forums, quick start videos, technical articles, webinars and product highlights.
