Artesyn Technologies Introduces New 15W and 20W DC / DC Converter Compliant with Medical Device Safety Standards

Artesyn Embedded Technologies announces the two new 15W and 20W DC / DC power converters, the AEE15W-M and AEE20W-M, to provide OEMs and manufacturers of industrial products and medical devices with a lower cost yet Power system solutions that meet the stringent requirements to ensure that these must be assisted or enhanced insulation system products are related to certification, in line with industrial products and medical equipment safety standards.

Reinforced insulation systems are essential components of medical equipment that are rated for 300V (ac) and 4200Vrms (ac) for input and output isolation. These new DC / DC power modules meet the UL / CSA / EN / IEC 60601-1 Medical Device Safety Standard (Version 3) and provide dual insulation protection (2X MOPP) to patients. This family of DC / DC power supplies is highly reliable and has an estimated MTBF of up to 1,000,000 hours.

AEE15W-M and AEE20W-M series of products are packaged in a compact plastic box, the size of only 2 x1 inches, up to 89% efficiency, and the input voltage range is extremely wide, for 9V to 75V (DC) input voltage, which Includes three different 2: 1 rated input voltage ranges, 9V to 18V, 18V to 36V, and 36V to 75V.

These two series of power modules have a full voltage regulator of the single output and dual output models, a single output models are 5V, 12V and 15V output to choose from, and dual output models are + 12V / -, 12V output and +15 V / -15 V output two to choose from. These DC / DC power modules operate over the temperature range of -40 to 80 degrees Celsius and provide full power output at operating temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius, derating the output even in areas operating at temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius. In addition, these two series of power modules have other features, such as medical devices indispensable low leakage characteristics and overvoltage protection, and anti-electromagnetic interference performance in line with EN55022 Class A and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) A Level A safety standards.
