Diodes' DGD0506 and DGD0507 high frequency gate drive ICs

Diodes' DGD0506 and DGD0507 high-frequency gate driver ICs are specifically designed to drive two external N-channel MOSFETs in a half-bridge configuration. The 50V rating is suitable for a variety of motor drive needs, especially brushless DC (BLDC) motors, which are increasingly used in battery-powered applications such as drones, fans, electronic cigarettes, and including electric drills. The DGD0506 and DGD0507 drivers feature a logic-level input (from 2.5V) that can be directly controlled by a 3.3V MCU with output steps up to VCC (8V to 14V), ensuring complete enhancement of the MOSFET and reduced conduction losses. The DGD0506 half-bridge requires only a single input to minimize the number of MCU GPIO pins and can be set to 70ns to 420ns for blind periods, providing design flexibility. For shorter blinds, the DGD0507 features independent high-side and low-side inputs for higher switching frequencies with a maximum propagation delay of 35ns and can be matched in 5ns. In addition, its anti-transconductance logic ensures that the high-side and low-side outputs are not turned on at the same time, thereby protecting the MOSFET. The undervoltage lockout (UVLO) circuit also protects the MOSFET from power interruptions.

The DGD0506 and DGD0507 are available in the DFN3030 package and offer pin-compatible alternatives for the industry-used types. Both devices are very competitively priced.
