
TDK Corporation introduces a new series of EPCOS toroidal core common mode inductors - B82724J8*N040 series. The new range is RoHS compliant and operates continuously at rated voltages up to 800 V DC or 250 V AC and is specially developed for DC link filtering in frequency converters. Compared with the traditional models, the new series of chokes also have excellent thermal performance, that is, the chokes have large inductance values, and can work under high current conditions even in high temperature environments.
The new series offers inductance values from 0.5 mH to 47 mH and current ratings from 1.6 A to 10 A, depending on the inductor. It is rated for an ambient temperature of + 70 ° C without derating. For additional attenuation of symmetrical interference, the stray inductance of the power line choke is approximately 0.5% of the nominal value. All models in this series are 18.5 mm x 31.3 mm x 33.2 mm, which is the same as the standard B82724J* series, which means that the new series of inductors can be directly extended to existing packages.
The new toroidal core common mode inductor is made of flame retardant plastic in accordance with UL 94 V-0 and is certified according to IEC 60335-1, Chapter 30 (Glow Wire and Ball Pressure Test). In addition, the windings are fully potted and suitable for use in highly polluted environments. Typical applications for new inductors include inverters and power supplies.
