Infineon Technologies introduces the easy-to-use, fully integrated, high-efficiency DC-DC regulator IR3883

Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) today introduced the IR3883, an easy-to-use, fully integrated, high-efficiency DC-DC regulator designed for energy efficiency, reliability and thermal management High density point of load application. The device is ideal for networking, telecom, server and storage solutions. The regulator is equipped with a stability-enhanced engine that simplifies design while ensuring stability with pure ceramic capacitors. In comparison, other solutions require additional peripherals to ensure stability and ripple injection. As a result, the IR3883 can reduce up to five peripheral devices and simplify board layout designs that are less than 100 square millimeters in size.

The IR3883 is available in a PXFN package measuring only 3 x 3 mm and has an input voltage of 4.5V to 14V, providing 3A of continuous output current. In the case of a low load, it can enter the diode conduction mode to reduce power consumption. In addition, it supports low quiescent current mode and is ideal for backup power supplies that meet energy-saving requirements. In addition, the IR3883 can turn off DCM for applications that require very low ripple to avoid interference/beat frequency. It can output accurate voltages from 0.5V to 5V. Three levels of internal temperature limiting with temperature compensation are available, eliminating the need to use large inductors while reducing one resistor.

Because digital OCSEF avoids malfunction caused by external noise and simplifies board layout design, it can improve the stability of the system as a whole. For example, PVIN/PGND and SW/BOOT are adjacent to optimize the bypass capacitor layout, reduce noise, and simplify design. The IR3883 also features comprehensive protection for enterprise-class applications, pre-biased load start, thermal shutdown, overcurrent protection, internal soft start, enable pin and power GOOD output.
