Littelfuse AEC-Q101-Compliant, Transient-Suppressing Diode Offers One-Unit Protection Solutions for Transient Voltages up to 550V

Friday, November 17, 2017

600W Pulsed Peak Power Dissipation in a Standard DO-214AA SMB Package.

Littelfuse, Inc., a global leader in circuit protection, today announced the launch of AEC-Q101 high-voltage transient suppression diodes designed to protect sensitive Automotive circuits protected from surges and electrostatic discharge damage. Featuring both peak pulse power and fast response of up to 600 watts, the TPSMB family of automotive transient suppression diodes offers circuit designers high-voltage single-component circuit protection solutions. The TPSMB family simplifies printed circuit board design and significantly improves reliability by eliminating the need to have multiple transient suppression diodes in series for proper protection. Off-state voltages of unidirectional and bidirectional models range from 10V to 550V and are suitable for protecting input / output interfaces, VCC buses and other vulnerable circuits.

Littelfuse-TPSMB-TVS diodes

Typical applications for the TPSMB series of TVS diodes include:

Automotive Electronic Control Unit (ECU)

BCM / LIN bus / CAN bus

Car sensor

Car entertainment system

Xenon headlight igniter

Active Clamping of IGBTs in HVAC and Converter / Inverter Systems

Series Battery Protection in Battery Management System (BMS)

"Airtight and bidirectional TPSMB series transient suppressors complying with the AEC-Q101 standard are now available for high voltage protection through the standard DO-214AA SMB package." Charlie Cai, Global Product Manager, Littelfuse Electronics Business Unit, said, "High voltage protection and small size Means that circuit designers do not have to set aside additional board space for multiple transient suppression diodes. "

The TPSMB series automotive transient suppression diodes have the following key benefits:

The 600W peak pulse power rating is popular with automotive applications.

Devices that meet AEC-Q101 requirements are ideal for applications that require high reliability.

The compact DO-214AA package makes PCB layout quick and easy.

The off-state voltage of 10V to 550V meets the automotive design requirements and meets the IGBT active clamp and xenon headlamp lighter protection requirements.

Meets IEC 61000-4-2 and IEC 610000-4-4 standards, helping designers meet international regulatory standards.
