
Safely absorbs repeated ESD shocks while avoiding performance degradation
Littelfuse, Inc., a leader in the field of global circuit protection, today introduced the newest product in the SP11xx family of bidirectional TVS diodes (SPA® diodes) - 80A discrete bidirectional TVS diodes. The SP1103C Series 80A Discrete Bi-Directional TVS Diode provides circuit designers with a lower off-state voltage to protect the low-voltage power bus from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
The diodes are constructed using proprietary silicon avalanche manufacturing technology with transient suppression diodes that protect each I/O pin and provide a high level of protection for electronic devices that are highly sensitive to damaging ESD. The diode is powerful enough to safely absorb ±30kV repeated ESD strikes without sacrificing performance. In addition, each diode can safely dissipate 80A of 8/20μs waveform inrush current at extremely low clamping voltages.
SP1103C series TVS diode arrays are commonly used in automotive electronics, industrial products, consumer electronics, switches/buttons, test equipment/instruments, point-of-sale terminals, medical equipment, notebook/desktop/server and computer peripherals.
"The SP1103C Series offers enhanced ESD protection capabilities that allow manufacturers to provide the highest ESD protection performance beyond the IEC standard," said Tim Micun, Littelfuse's business development manager for transient suppression diode arrays. "It also protects against a variety of other threats and ensures that products perform more reliably in the field."
