Littelfuse, Inc., a global leader in circuit protection, today announced the release of the MHP-TAT18 metal hybrid PPTC battery miniature circuit-breaker with self-healing thermal cutoff (TCO) capability. This over-temperature protection device can provide 9VDC rated voltage, and higher rated current than similar products on the market. MHP technology parallels a bimetallic protector with a polymer positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) device. The PPTC acts as a heater and locks the bimetal before troubleshooting.
Application:
"The MHP-TAT18 metal-mixed PPTC miniature circuit breaker with thermal cutout features a smaller, thinner profile while still handling higher voltages than comparable protective devices on the market." Littelfuse Electronics Business Unit Products Manager Amy Chu said. "Its solder leads are also customizable to help customers complete the design process."
The MHP-TAT-18 Metal Hybrid PPTC Miniature Circuit Breaker with self-healing thermal cutoff offers the following key benefits:
High current capacity and low resistance handle high voltage lithium ion polymer and square battery voltage and battery charging speed.
A variety of nominal activation temperatures (72 ° C, 77 ° C, 82 ° C, 85 ° C, 90 ° C) help provide self-healing, accurate overheating protection.
The slim, compact form factor (5.8mm x 3.80mm x 1.05mm) enhances the circuit protection for slim battery pack designs.
