Littelfuse New Transient Suppression Diode Array

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

Littelfuse, Inc., a global leader in circuit protection, today announced the availability of a 0.9pF ± 30kV distributed one-way transient suppression diode array (SPA® diode) family. The SP3222 Series Transient Suppression Diode Array combines low-capacitance rail-to-rail diodes with additional zener diodes to protect electronic devices that may be subject to destructive electrostatic discharge (ESD). This powerful diode meets the AEC-Q101 standard and safely absorbs the highest level of repetitive ESD discharges above the international standard and does not degrade performance.

The low load capacitance makes it ideal for providing ESD protection for high-speed data lines such as MIPI cameras and displays, USB 2.0, USB3.0 and eSATA. This series of products is ideal for protecting the latest sensitive chipsets with a geometric size of 28nm and below from destructive ESD damage.

Other applications of the SP3222 series of transient suppression diode arrays include high-speed serial interface, MHL, DisplayPort 1.3, set-top boxes, game consoles, smartphones, external storage devices, laptops, ultra-pole, tablet PCs and e-readers.

"The SP3222 series offers extremely low dynamic resistance to ensure excellent clamping performance under a variety of current distributions to provide superior ESD protection." Tim Micun, Littelfuse Transient Suppression Diode Array Business Development Manager, said, "The series Transient Suppression Diode Arrays with no allowable voltages up to 40V at 8kV ESD provide excellent voltage response, which is especially important for protecting small sensitive chipsets. "

SP3222 series of transient suppression diode array has the following outstanding advantages:

Low peak voltage (nominal voltage below 8V ESD) provides the lowest allowable voltage to quickly and efficiently protect small, sensitive chipsets.

Very low dynamic resistance (0.17 ohms) ensures excellent transmission line pulse (TLP) performance, which is a key factor in protecting the chip with a geometry of 28nm and below.

AEC-Q101 certification means that it can continue to work under conditions that are worse than expected.

The industry standard SOD-883 package reduces overall costs and ensures high product availability.
