Excellent AC handling and surge stability for input rectifiers

The S8016xA series of SCR switching thyristors provide excellent AC processing and surge stability, enabling them to handle up to 16 ARMS of Class 1 charging at 120V, up to 16ARMS at 100°C and 240V, and up to 25ARMS at 80°C. Level 2 charging. The S8016xA family is the first SCR switching thyristor series capable of handling such high current levels. It is available in TO-220R and TO-263 packages, meets AEC-Q101 requirements, and supports the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

The S8016xA series of SCR switching thyristors have the following key advantages:

RMS on-current (IT(RMS)) of up to 25A makes it ideal for Class 1 and Class 2 AC charging applications.

The product has a peak non-repetitive blocking voltage (VDSM) of up to 1300V and a non-repetitive peak surge current (IPP) of 2400A, such as a suitable automotive grade metal oxide varistor (MOV) for AC overvoltage protection (eg Littelfuse) The AUMOV® series) can withstand 6kV surges.

It is AEC-Q101 compliant and supports PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), making it ideal for protecting Class 1 AC car chargers.
