The picture below shows the connection diagram of the MX232 serial port, in which the C1-C4 can be replaced with the nonpolarized 104 for reliable communication.
The Max232 product is a compatible RS232 standard chip from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). The part contains 2 drivers, 2 receivers and a voltage generator circuit to provide TIA / EIA-232-F levels.
The device complies with the TIA / EIA-232-F standard, and each receiver converts TIA / EIA-232-F levels to 5-V TTL / CMOS levels. Each transmitter converts TTL / CMOS levels to TIA / EIA-232-F levels.
