The IC18 K83 Series simplifies CAN-based design and further increases cost-effectiveness
Microchip Technology Inc. announced that two new 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) products have been added to the PIC18 product line. These microcontrollers use the controller area network (CAN) bus in conjunction with a number of core-independent peripherals (CIPs) to enhance system functionality. Moreover, designers can more easily develop CAN-based applications without adding complex software. Applications.
A key advantage of using a K83 MCU in a CAN-based system is that CIP provides deterministic response to real-time events, reduces design time, and can be easily configured using the MPLAB® Code Configurator (MCC) tool. This new series is ideal for applications that use CAN in the medical, industrial, and automotive markets such as electric operating tables, asset tracking, ultrasound machines, automatic conveyors, and automotive accessories. When completing a task, it is much easier for system designers to configure hardware-based peripherals than writing and verifying the entire software routine, which can save a lot of time.
Steve Drehobl, vice president of Microchip's 8-bit MCU product division, said: “The MCU can be configured by clicking a few buttons in the MCC, which will change the way you design CAN. Using the same tools as other PIC® microcontrollers, using the K83 series With CIP, you can easily use features such as communications, intelligent emulation, and low power consumption."
Microchip introduces a new 8-bit microcontroller that integrates peripherals independent of the core and shortens the response time of critical system events on the CAN network
