Molex Announces Easy-On FFC/FPC Connector

0.5 mm and 1.00 mm pitch connectors ensure signal reliability in a compact, lightweight construction

Molex has announced two FFC/FPC connectors designed to meet the growing demand for information markets for automotive manufacturers and TV display manufacturers, and to meet designers' needs for small pitch, high reliability connectors. Easy-On FFC/FPC connectors are available in 0.5 mm pitch and 1.00 mm pitch to reduce connection space, weight and cost in this highly competitive market while ensuring connection reliability.

Yosuke Terui, global product manager at Molex, said: "The Easy-On FFC/FPC connector has a lightweight product structure that provides secure signal transmission for consumer, automotive, medical applications and more industries with modern communication capabilities. Both 0.5 mm and 1.00 mm Easy-On FFC/FPC connectors feature a double bottom contact terminal design that provides better removal of dust and contaminants from the connection location than the single bottom contact terminal. Both models also provide a vacuum pick-and-place area on the top of the case for easy board assembly and cost savings, and cable ear guards are used to secure the connection.

Both sizes are available in a heat-resistant resin housing with 4 to 80 circuit counts for maximum design flexibility. In addition, the 0.5 mm connector features single and dual contacts for high reliability and versatility in terms of circuit count, height and cable style.
