Mouser Electronics continues to focus on new product introductions (NPIs) and offers a wide range of product types, and announced today that it will stock with the Texas Instruments (TI) AM571x Sitara application processor. This ARM® Cortex® technology-based processor is highly efficient and can meet the urgent needs of modern embedded applications for processing performance, including industrial communications, human-machine interface (HMI), automation and control.
TI's AM571x Sitara processor from MOUSER offers a combination of programmable video processing and a highly integrated set of peripherals. Programmability is achieved through a single-core ARM Cortex-A15 Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) CPU with Neon expansion components and the TI C66x floating-point DSP core. Using ARM processors, developers can separate the control functions from the visual algorithms written on DSPs and coprocessors, thereby reducing system software complexity.
This processor provides up to 512 KB of Level 3 (L3) RAM, L3 and L4 interconnects, and DDR3/DDR3L memory interface modules. The module supports up to DDR-1333 (667 MHz) memory and can be expanded up to 2 GB with a single chip select signal. A powerful display subsystem supports 1080p HD video as well as 2D and 3D graphics. Other features include two dual-core programmable real-time units, a universal memory controller, enhanced direct memory access (DMA) control, sixteen 32-bit general-purpose timers, and a 32-bit watchdog timer.
Mouser also offers four development tools to support this AEC-Q100 compliant processor. The TMDSEVM572x evaluation module is equipped with a 7-inch touch screen that can be used with the TMDSCM572x camera evaluation module to speed the development of HMI and other applications. The TMDXIDK57x-LCD Industrial Development Kit comes with a 10.1-inch LCD display and 10-point capacitive touch for display and touch applications. The TMDXIDK5718 Industrial Development Kit comes with a camera daughter card and supports six-port synchronous Ethernet and integrated industrial Ethernet and Fieldbus protocols.
