ON Semiconductor Introduces 100 V Bridge Power Stage Module FDMF8811

ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ON) has introduced the industry's first 100 V bridge power stage module FDMF8811 for half-bridge and full-bridge isolated DC-DC converters. The device is rated at 25 A and integrates a 120 V driver IC, a bootstrap diode and two energy-efficient power MOSFETs in a PQFN-36 package.

Compared to the discrete solution, the FDMF8811 reduces the board area required for DC-DC converter design by approximately one-third, enabling engineers to design smaller systems. If space is not an issue, the FDMF8811 can also increase power delivery within the available board area. The FDMF8811 is ideal for cloud applications such as wireless base stations, power modules or any onboard, isolated DC-DC converters and industrial applications such as motor drives, fans and heating and ventilation (HVAC).

By integrating all of the critical power devices, ON Semiconductor optimizes drive and MOSFET dynamic performance, system parasitic inductance, and power MOSFET RDS(ON) design to maintain the highest possible energy efficiency. The FDMF8811 offers more than 97% energy efficiency in a full-bridge 600 W application.

Roberto Guerrero, senior director of marketing for ON Semiconductor's cloud power solutions, said: "The FDMF8811 opens up a new product category on the market. It enables isolated DC-DC converters in the cloud infrastructure to achieve higher levels of power density."
