Semtech Expands Its RClamp Product Platform to Protect Telecom and Industrial Applications from Surge and Electrostatic Discharge

Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq:SMTC), a leading supplier of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products and advanced algorithms, has announced the launch of its newest product line of its RClamp® low-capacity surge protection product platform. This new four-wire transient voltage suppressor (TVS) array provides high-inrush, low-capacitance transient voltage protection and features a device layout that is easy to layout. The new RClamp2594N device also minimizes capacitive loading on high-speed interfaces as a product optimized for telecommunications and industrial data interfaces to provide excellent protection against dangerous transient voltages.

Focusing on telecommunication and industrial applications installed in harsh electrical environments, Semtech's new RClamp2594N array provides an unforgettable 35A (8x20μs waveform) surge protection and ±30kV contact/±30kV air ESD discharge protection rating . This product greatly exceeds industry-standard electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, providing excellent clamping voltage performance while delivering only very low 2.1pF line-to-line capacitance.
