
TDK Group's CeraLinkTM family of capacitors has two new thinner (LP) products rated at 900 V DC. Both models are SMT capacitors with a capacitance of 0.25μF and support different connection types. The B58031I9254M062 has an L-shaped terminal with a size of 10.84 x 7.85 x 4 mm, while the B58031U9254M062 has a J shape with a size of only 7.14. x 7.85 x 4 mm.
The new capacitors are available to complement the LP family of products, which previously included only 500 V DC (1 μF) and 700 V DC (0.5 μF) models. All LP models are designed in a compact design with a continuous operating temperature of up to 150 °C and can be embedded directly into the IGBT module as a snubber capacitor.
CeraLinkTM capacitors are made of PLZT (lead zirconate titanate) ceramic material, which has an ultra-low parasitic coefficient in addition to the above characteristics. For example, these components have a minimum equivalent series resistance (ESR) of 12 mΩ and an equivalent series inductance (ESL) of only 2.5 nH. In view of this, these capacitors are well suited for converter topology based on fast switching semiconductors such as GaN or SiC. Compared to conventional capacitor technology, this capacitor has very low voltage overshoot and transient oscillation. In addition, the new LP series capacitors feature high steady-state ripple currents up to 11.4 ARMS.
We also offer CeraLinkTM capacitor models with higher capacitance values with soldered lead contacts. Designed for voltage ratings of 500 V or 700 V DC, this model has a capacitance of 20 μF (500 V DC) or 10 μF (700 V DC) and an equivalent series inductance (ESL) value of typically approximately 3.5 nH.
