Thursday, July 5, 2018

Telit's latest industrial grade LM940 mini card is the first to include Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM X12 LTE modem with download speeds up to 600 Mbps

Recently, the global Internet of Things promoter Telit announced the launch of the LM940. This is the world's first Full PCI Express Mini Card (mPCIe) module for routers and gateways, supporting LTE Advanced Cat 11, speeds up to 600 Mbps, and will be licensed by mobile network operators in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The industry-class LM940 is the industry's only mPCIe card with built-in Snapdragon X12 LTE modem and Cat 11 support, providing great flexibility to create an unparalleled user experience for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) who want to quickly deploy next-generation products. Come to a competitive advantage.

Now, as applications such as high-definition video streaming with digital signage, business and enterprise failover needs and flash shops become more complex, router and gateway OEM customers demand more bandwidth and almost instantaneous network response. .

Sam Lucero, senior principal analyst at global information provider IHS Markit, said: "This industrial-grade module developed by Telit supports LTE Cat 11, covering the global market, and hopes to deploy the latest solutions now. Device vendors are attractive, especially in the router and gateway markets, which support high-bandwidth applications such as digital signage. In our June 2006 industrial cellular IoT gateway market report*, IHS Markit expects gateways Product shipments will increase from nearly 2 million units in 2016 to more than 6 million units in 2021. The shipments of industrial-grade cellular IoT gateways will exceed $1.6 billion by 2021."

Manish Watwani, vice president of global product marketing at Telit, points out: "Telite has once again consolidated its leadership position by providing customers with the latest LTE Advanced technology that they can now use in the market. And the gateway industry, currently only the LM940 allows original equipment manufacturers to immediately take advantage of the three-carrier aggregation and high-order 256QAM modulation capabilities currently offered by most mobile operator networks. With an outstanding power platform, it is the ideal router industry. The solution helps develop a variety of commercial and enterprise applications, such as networking between branch offices, LTE failover, digital signage, kiosks, flash shops, car routers and construction sites."

Qualcomm's product management director, Gautam Sheoran, said: "The Snapdragon X12 LTE modem with LTE Advanced technology has a maximum download speed of 600 Mbps, which defines a new level of service for emerging applications. We are currently working with Telit. The cooperation is very satisfying, and we jointly contribute to the global market to support emerging applications such as 4K video, virtual reality and cognitive computing."
