Vishay introduces new automotive-grade power indicator LEDs with the smallest form factor and the latest AllnGaP technology for high brightness and high drive current

Available in PLCC-2 and ultra-small MiniLED package versions, the device is AEC-Q101 certified and has a luminous intensity of 1400 mcd

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of two new automotive-grade surface mount power indicator LED products in the PLCC-2 and ultra-small MiniLED packages - VLMx335xx and VLMx235xx. With the smallest chip size and the latest AllnGaP technology, the Vishay VLMx335xx and VLMx235xx series offer ultra-high brightness and up to 50mA maximum drive current for automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

The two LED products released today are AEC-Q101 certified, with a thermal resistance as low as 400K/W and a power dissipation of 130mW, enabling them to pass large drive currents. The VLMx235xx MiniLED is available in sizes as small as 2.3mm x 1.3mm x 1.4mm, while the VLMx335xx has a luminous intensity of up to 1400mcd, making it an indicator light and backlight for automotive interior and exterior lighting, signal lights, traffic signs, and audio and video equipment, LCD switches and universal symbols. Ideal.

Available in super red, pure red, amber, bright orange and yellow versions, the product includes a lead frame base embedded in a thermoplastic and a built-in mirror filled with clear epoxy. These devices offer a half-intensity angle of ±60°, a forward voltage as low as 1.8V, and a luminous intensity ratio of ≤1.6 per package unit, and classify the luminous intensity and color in packaging units.

The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free and compliant with Vishay's green standards. The product is available in an 8mm strip version and can withstand up to 2kV of static electricity according to JESD22-A114-B and meets JEDEC Level 2a pre-compliance requirements.
