Vishay Introduces Small SMD LEDs in ChipLED Package

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the launch of a new line of true green LEDs, the VLMTG1400, in a small surface mount 0603 ChipLED package. The VLMTG1400 series features 1.6mm x 0.8mm and a height of only 0.55mm. It uses the latest ultra-bright InGaN chip technology to achieve a luminous intensity of 2800mcd.

These devices, released today, are mounted on PCB substrates with high brightness and small size, making them ideal for small products that require reliable operation in harsh environments. LEDs enable designers to increase design flexibility and achieve high performance in applications such as navigation systems, cell phones, industrial control systems, traffic lights, and backlit keyboards and displays for message boards.

The VLMTG1400 series has a luminous intensity of 1200mcd to 2800mcd at 20A, a typical wavelength of 525nm, and a forward voltage from 2.75V to 3.2V. The device is grouped by luminous intensity, wavelength, and forward voltage, and the viewing angle is extremely wide, up to 146°. The LEDs are packaged in 8mm tape and are RoHS and Vishay green. They are halogen-free and compatible with infrared reflow soldering. They are pre-treated according to JEDEC Level 2a.
