Vishay's First AEC-Q100 Certified Analog Switch for Automotive Applications Improves Signal Integrity and Bandwidth

The device operates over the -40 ° C to + 125 ° C range, with resistance as low as 0.37Ω and stable bandwidth of 338MHz, in a small form factor miniQFN16 package

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced the release of its new DGQ2788A, a dual DPDT / Quad SPDT Analog Switch certified with AEC-Q100 (Grade 1). The switch has a 0.37Ω, 338MHz bandwidth at 2.7V, Small size 2.6mm x 1.8mm x 0.55mm miniQFN16 package. Vishay SiliconixDGQ2788A is ideally suited for analog and digital signal switching in space-constrained automotive applications with very flat resistance and parasitic capacitance curves for increased signal integrity and higher bandwidth.

The devices released today are the first of Vishay's family of automotive analog switches to address automotive intelligence, infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), advanced diagnostics and engine control modules, traction and stability control modules, and Power window, car locks and mirrors and other rapid growth in the field of automotive subdivision signal switching needs. These applications require audio, video, bus and communication interface switches to bridge and route signals.

Similar to the resistance of the competition device maximum operating voltage of 4.3V, DGQ2788A will expand the voltage range to 5.5V, to adapt to the common 5V industrial signal. The switch's resistance flatness is 10mΩ, making the THD -100dB, an increase of 20dB, while the flatness of other devices is as high as 500mΩ. In addition, the DGQ2788A has a parasitic capacitance CON of 26pF and a COFF of 14.5pF, respectively, which is 70% lower, resulting in a -3x increase in -3dB bandwidth at 338MHz. Competitive devices to achieve optimal bandwidth, only use 2.3V ~ 3.6V power supply. The DGQ2788A uses a gated switch design to achieve a low 88% switching RC matrix. Device has a wide operating voltage range, low resistance and high bandwidth advantages, fully meet the various design needs, simplify the BOM.

The DGQ2788A operates from -40 ° C to + 125 ° C with four independent, selectable SPDT switches and two control inputs. All switches turn on well in both directions and can be used as multiplexers or demultiplexers. The switch uses a 1.8V ~ 5.5V power supply, the logic threshold of the digital input is 1.2V, guaranteed with low voltage TTL / CMOS compatible. The device is RoHS compliant and features a switch-on and switch-on feature with brownout protection, ESD protection greater than 2kV (Human Body Model), and latch current up to 300mA per per JESD78 standard.

The DGQ2788A is sampling now and mass production is available. The lead time for bulk orders is eight weeks.
