
Vishay's new FRED Pt Ultrafast rectifiers dramatically increase power density, performance efficiency, and device reliability. These 200V devices are available in automotive and commercial/industrial versions. They are less than 1mm high and can achieve up to 8A single-cathode configurations.
Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the launch of the new 200V FRED Pt® Ultrafast Fast Recovery Rectifiers - VS-6DKH02-M3 and VS-8DKH02-M3, automotive grade VS-6DKH02HM3 and VS- 8DKH02HM3. The new rectifier is available in a thermally efficient FlatPAKTM 5x6 package and has a height of less than 1mm. The commercial/industrial VS-6DKH02-M3 and VS-8DKH02-M3, as well as the automotive grades VS-6DKH02HM3 and VS-8DKH02HM3, have undergone a 2000-hour high temperature reverse bias test (HTRB) with long-term reliability and high power density And high efficiency, suitable for automotive and communications applications.
The rectifiers announced today are small and have large forward currents. The forward current of the VS-6DKH02-M3 and VS-6DKH02HM3 is 6A (2x3A), and the forward current of the VS-8DKH02-M3 and VS-8DKH02HM3 is 8A (2 x 4A). ). With a stand-alone cell design, the device can be configured as a dual-die rectifier, replacing two smaller packages with a single package, helping designers to simplify PCB layout. Vishay's FlatPAK has the same standard footprint as the 5 x 6 QFN (quad flat no-lead package). QFN is a widely used package for other technologies such as MOSFETs and can use different circuit topologies.
The rectifier uses FRED Pt technology to achieve an ultra-fast recovery time of 25ns, low reverse recovery charge, and soft recovery characteristics over the operating temperature range of -55°C to +175°C. The forward voltage of the device is reduced to 0.7V, reducing power loss and improving efficiency. The VS-6DKH02HM3 and VS-8DKH02HM3 are AEC-Q101 certified. Typical applications include automotive engine control units (ECUs), anti-lock braking systems (ABS), DC/DC converters in HID and LED lighting, commercial/industrial applications. The VS-6DKH02-M3 and VS-8DKH02-M3 are suitable for communication power supplies.
The new rectifier has a moisture sensitivity level of 1 in the J-STD-020 standard, with a peak LF of +260°C. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and is ideally suited for automated patching and automatic optical inspection (AOI) in automotive systems.
