
The new device is suitable for remote control applications, improving the resistance to optical radiation and radio frequency radiation without sacrificing sensitivity
Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of a new generation of miniature infrared (IR) receiver modules for infrared remote controls. The Vishay Semiconductors TSOP11xxx, TSOP12xxx, TSOP13xxx, TSOP14xxx, and TSOP18xxx family of devices improve the sensitivity to infrared signals in dark environments and sloppy environments, as well as the ability to suppress RF noise better. The device has a very high pulse width accuracy, suitable for coding applications, and even the most stringent pulse width standards such as SIRCS and RCMM.
The device released today can be used for infrared remote controls in televisions, set-top boxes, audio, air conditioners, video projectors, cameras, game consoles and other products. For remote control functions in these products, these devices enhance their resistance to various types of interference, such as infrared radiation from mercury lamps and RF radiation from Wi-Fi antennas on the circuit boards. In addition, the module improves pulse-width accuracy, uses almost any coding to achieve a lower bit error rate, and the device is insensitive to supply voltage fluctuations and ripple noise.
To simplify the design, the receiver integrates the photodetector, preamplifier circuit, and infrared filter in the 3-pin pin of the Epoxy Resin Cast (TSOP11xxx), Mold (TSOP12xxx, and TSOP14xxx), Minimold (TSOP13xxx), or Minicast (TSOP18xxx) packages in. Each series of carrier frequencies from 30kHz to 56kHz has 6 automatic gain control (AGC) versions for short bursts and long bursts. All receivers have a supply voltage of 2.5V to 5.5V, low supply current, RoHS and Vishay green standards, and no halogen.
