Diodes Launches Ultra-Small TVS with USB 3.1/3.2 and Thunderbolt 3 Interface Protection

Diodes today introduced the state-of-the-art transient voltage suppressor (TVS) DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7. This product is suitable for advanced system single chip with differential signal line and frequency of 5 Ghz or more. It can provide excellent TVS/ESD protection for I/O port. It is USB 3.1/3.2, ThunderboltTM 3, PCI Express® 3.0/4.0, High-speed interfaces such as HDMI 2.0a and DisplayPortTM 1.4 are integral components.

Modern SoCs are typically manufactured with advanced CMOS process nodes that are more tolerant of transient voltages and electrostatic discharge at the I/O ports. The input channel capacitance of traditional TVS devices is often too high, and it is easy to reduce high-speed signal quality because the signal moves between the receiving system's boundary and the SoC I/O port's connector. The DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7 uses Diodes' own advanced process to achieve ultralow input channel capacitance (0.175pF typical), low dynamic impedance, low trigger/hold/clamp voltage, and ultra-low capacitance advanced package. Careful design results in extremely low insertion loss and meets the signal integrity requirements of high-speed interfaces such as USB 3.1/3.2 and Thunderbolt 3.

In addition to ultra-low output capacitance, the DESD3V3Z1BCSF-7 also provides excellent ESD protection, meeting the IEC61000-4-2 up to 8kV air and contact discharge requirements. This product leads the industry and achieves the best combination of clamp voltage (IPP = 3A typical VCL = 4.5V), breakdown voltage (maximum VBR = 9V), reverse isolation voltage (maximum VRWM = 3.3V), and The peak pulse power (PPP) on the short circuit waveform of 8/20μs is 25W.
