Compared with existing products on the market, these next-generation power supply devices can use DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology to achieve higher efficiency, better performance, and greater functionality at competitive costs. The market prospects of the Genesys+TM series are very broad and can meet the needs of component, aerospace and automotive testing, semiconductor manufacturing, water treatment, electroplating, and solar array simulation.
The 5kW power supply is housed in a 1U high, 19" (483mm) wide rack mount package and has the highest power density, weighs less than 7kg, and reaches the lightest level in the industry (less than half the weight of comparable products). Five voltage models are available for selection: 0-10V/500A, 0-20V/250A, 0-30V/170A, 0-300V/17A, and 0-600V/8.5A. These models are available with constant current and constant voltage. They operate in constant power mode and provide internal impedance simulation. They can accept three-phase 170 to 265Vac, 342 to 460Vac, or a wide range of 342 to 528Vac inputs, and have active power factor correction.Work efficiency up to 93%.
In addition to being twice as powerful as the existing GenesysTM 5kW 2U series, there are many other significant improvements to Genesys+TM. This includes a high contrast, wide viewing angle LCD display with user-controllable brightness and dimming for improved readability and extended display life. Rising and falling programming response time is shorter, increasing the speed of operation while having user-adjustable voltage and current rate of change control. Two user-programmable output control pins (open drain) can be used to activate external devices such as load disconnect relays. Arbitrary waveforms can be generated up to 100 steps, such as car battery simulation curves at the start of the vehicle. These curves are stored in four memory locations and are activated by commands from the communications port or front panel controls.
For applications in dusty environments, Genesys+TM offers a choice of front panel dust filters, which are removable snap-in filters for easy maintenance (with thermal derating).
