The MAX487EPA+ transceiver from Maxim Integrated is a high-performance, low-power device designed for RS-485 and RS-422 communication applications. This integrated circuit is engineered to provide reliable data transmission over long distances and in electrically noisy environments, making it an ideal solution for industrial networks, building automation, and networked security systems.

With its controlled slew-rate limiting feature, the MAX487EPA+ reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, thus enhancing signal integrity and network reliability. The transceiver operates from a single 5V supply and is capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 2.5Mbps.
