Description

The M74HC123B1 is a high-speed CMOS Dual Retriggerable Monostable Multivibrator fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology from STMicroelectronics. This integrated circuit is designed to operate from a wide range of power supplies, including a 2V to 6V DC supply voltage, making it suitable for battery-operated devices as well as for standard digital applications.

The M74HC123B1 features two monostable multivibrators with separate reset, set, A (trigger), and B (retrigger) inputs. Each multivibrator has its own 2-input active LOW trigger, an active HIGH trigger, and an output capable of sinking or sourcing current up to 8mA. The device can be triggered on the falling-edge of the input pulse (A input) or on the rising-edge of the input pulse (B input). Once triggered, the basic pulse width is programmed by selecting external resistance and capacitance values.

With its balanced propagation delays and high noise immunity, the M74HC123B1 is ideal for use in a variety of applications including timers, pulse generation, and time-delay circuits. Its retriggerable feature allows for pulse width expansion, further enhancing its versatility in complex timing solutions.
