The VIPER22ADIP is a high-performance, low-power offline switched-mode power supply (SMPS) primary switcher IC from STMicroelectronics, designed to deliver a cost-effective and compact solution for power supply circuits. Housed in a DIP-8 package, this versatile integrated circuit is engineered to drive a conventional bipolar switching transistor in a wide array of applications, including adapters, chargers, and stand-by modes for TVs and monitors, to name a few.

At the heart of the VIPER22ADIP is its fixed 60 kHz switching frequency with a quasi-resonant operation that ensures reduced EMI emissions and an improved efficiency profile. This feature, combined with the built-in soft-start functionality, helps in minimizing the stress on the components during the initial power-up phase, which significantly enhances the reliability and longevity of the entire power supply unit.
