Maxim Integrated MAX706REUA+ Microprocessor Supervisory Circuit

The MAX706REUA+ from Maxim Integrated is a compact, highly reliable microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuit designed to monitor power supplies and µP activity in digital systems. It provides excellent circuit reliability and low cost by eliminating external components and adjustments when used with 5V-powered circuits.

This supervisory circuit ensures that the µP is reset to a known state during power-up, power-down, or brown-out conditions. The MAX706REUA+ asserts a reset signal whenever the VCC supply voltage declines below a preset threshold, keeping it asserted for at least 140ms after VCC has risen above the reset threshold. This feature is crucial for systems where a stable and clear reset signal is necessary to ensure proper operation during power fluctuations or when the supply voltage is not guaranteed to be stable.
