Maxim Integrated MAX483EESA-T Low-Power, Slew-Rate-Limited RS-485/RS-422 Transceiver

The MAX483EESA-T is a high-performance transceiver module from Maxim Integrated, designed to facilitate communication on RS-485 and RS-422 networks. This device is particularly suitable for applications that require low power consumption and controlled data transmission speeds to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reflections caused by improperly terminated cables.

Encased in a space-saving 8-pin SOIC package, the MAX483EESA-T operates from a single 5V supply and is capable of transmitting and receiving data at rates up to 2.5Mbps. The integrated slew-rate-limited driver minimizes EMI and reduces signal reflections, making this transceiver an excellent choice for long cable runs or in electrically noisy environments.

The device features a half-duplex communication capability, allowing it to both transmit and receive data, but not simultaneously. This makes it ideal for multi-point communication networks where multiple transceivers share a common bus line. These features, combined with an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, make it suitable for industrial automation, HVAC systems, and other challenging environments.

Additional features include thermal shutdown protection and current limiting, which provide additional layers of safety for the transceiver.
