This integrated circuit (IC) is part of the advanced high-speed CMOS family and is fabricated with silicon gate CMOS technology to achieve operating speeds similar to LSTTL with the low power consumption of standard CMOS integrated circuits.

This octal latch has eight latches with three-state outputs for bus organized systems applications. It is capable of storing eight bits of data and comes in a wide-body SOIC-20 package, which provides a compact footprint while still being easy to handle in manufacturing and assembly processes.

The MC74AC573DWR2 is characterized for operation from -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for industrial temperature ranges and ensuring reliable performance under varying environmental conditions. The device features a common latch enable (LE) input and a common output enable (OE) input. When LE is HIGH, data on the Dn inputs enter the latches. In this condition, the latches are transparent, i.e., a latch output will change each time its corresponding D-input changes. When LE is taken LOW, the latches store the information that was present on the D-inputs a setup time preceding the HIGH-to-LOW transition of LE. The OE input, when LOW, enables the outputs, allowing data from the latches to be presented on the output. When OE is HIGH, the outputs are in a high impedance state, which is ideal for interfacing with bus lines in a bus-organized system.
