The NCP1423DMR2 from ON Semiconductor is a highly integrated DC-DC converter designed for portable applications that demand compact size and high efficiency. This step-up DC-DC converter is a perfect power solution for devices powered by single-cell alkaline, NiCd, NiMH, or single-cell Li-Ion batteries due to its ability to boost low input voltages to higher output voltages required by modern electronics.

With its high switching frequency of 1.2 MHz, the NCP1423DMR2 allows for the use of small, low-profile inductors and ceramic capacitors, which minimizes the overall footprint and height of the power supply design on the circuit board. This makes it an ideal choice for space-constrained applications such as handheld devices, wearable technology, and IoT devices.

The device features a True-Cutoff function that completely disconnects the load from the battery when the device is in shutdown mode, thereby conserving battery life. Additionally, the NCP1423DMR2 offers a Ring-Killer feature that reduces EMI by damping the inductor's ringing at the end of each switching cycle. This is particularly important in noise-sensitive applications.
