The LTC3413EFE#TRPBF is a high-performance, synchronous buck regulator from Linear Technology, now part of Analog Devices, designed to deliver continuous output currents up to 3A with high efficiency. This step-down converter operates over a wide input voltage range of 2.25V to 5.5V, making it an excellent choice for single-cell Li-Ion or multi-cell alkaline/NiMH applications as well as for 3.3V or 5V intermediate bus systems.

Its internal switches can deliver output voltages as low as 0.8V, enabling it to power the latest generation of low-voltage digital ICs. The LTC3413EFE#TRPBF utilizes a constant frequency, current mode architecture, which allows a selectable frequency from 300kHz to 2.25MHz or it can be synchronized to an external clock, providing flexibility in optimizing the trade-off between efficiency and external component size.

The device features internal low RDS(ON) switches which enhance efficiency and reduce the need for external heat sinking. Efficiency is further improved through the use of a BAT-TRACK adaptive output control, which optimizes efficiency under various load conditions. Additionally, the LTC3413EFE#TRPBF has a Burst Mode operation that is ideal for high efficiency at low output currents.

Protection features of the LTC3413EFE#TRPBF include a foldback current limit, thermal shutdown, and frequency foldback. These protective measures ensure reliable operation under abnormal operating conditions. The device is offered in a thermally enhanced 16-lead TSSOP package with exposed pad for improved thermal performance.
