The LTC3827IUH#TRPBF is a high-performance, dual 2-phase synchronous step-down DC/DC controller manufactured by Linear Technology, now part of Analog Devices. This integrated circuit is designed to efficiently convert input voltages ranging from 4V to 28V into two lower, regulated outputs with a voltage as low as 0.6V. The LTC3827IUH#TRPBF is well-suited for a wide range of applications including distributed power systems, telecommunications, networking equipment, and industrial systems.

This versatile controller features a constant-frequency, current mode architecture that provides excellent line and load transient response. It includes two independent channels that can be configured for two separate outputs or combined to operate as a dual-phase controller for higher power applications. Each channel is capable of driving a top side N-channel MOSFET and a bottom side N-channel MOSFET, and the switching frequency is programmable from 250kHz to 750kHz or it can be synchronized to an external clock.

The LTC3827IUH#TRPBF provides a variety of protective features to ensure the safety and reliability of the power system. These include overvoltage protection, undervoltage lockout, foldback current limiting, and soft-start capability to prevent inrush current at startup. Additionally, the device features differential output voltage sensing for precise regulation, and phase-lockable frequency modulation to minimize system noise.

For ease of use and flexibility, this controller also offers selectable continuous or pulse-skipping modes of operation, allowing designers to optimize between efficiency and light-load performance. Its current sense threshold is programmable, enabling the use of sense resistors for efficiency or inductor DCR sensing for reduced component count and improved efficiency.

The LTC3827IUH#TRPBF comes in a compact 5x5mm QFN-32 package, which is ideal for space-constrained applications. Its small size, combined with its powerful features, makes it an excellent choice for sophisticated power management solutions that require dual outputs with high efficiency and advanced control.
