LTC3546IUFD#PBF - Triple Channel, 800mA Synchronous Step-Down DC/DC Converter

The LTC3546IUFD#PBF is a high-performance, triple-channel, synchronous buck converter brought to you by Linear Technology, a leader in analog integrated circuits. This compact and efficient power management solution is designed to meet the rigorous demands of portable and space-constrained electronic devices.

Each of the three channels of the LTC3546 is capable of delivering up to 800mA of continuous output current, making it an ideal choice for powering modern microprocessors, FPGAs, DSPs, and other digital ICs that require multiple supply voltages. The device operates from an input voltage range of 2.25V to 5.5V, which allows for flexibility in battery-powered applications, including single-cell Li-Ion, or multi-cell alkaline/NiCd/NiMH configurations.

The LTC3546 features internal synchronous rectification, which provides high efficiency and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode. This, along with its 2.25MHz switching frequency, enables the use of small, low-cost capacitors and inductors, significantly reducing the overall solution footprint. The high switching frequency also allows for fast transient response, ensuring stable operation even during rapid load changes.

Each channel is independently adjustable, with output voltages as low as 0.6V, enabling the LTC3546 to support a wide variety of power supply requirements. In addition, the converter offers selectable Burst Mode® operation, which enhances efficiency at light loads, and a constant frequency current mode architecture that provides excellent line and load regulation.

The LTC3546IUFD#PBF is housed in a 24-lead QFN package, which is designed for enhanced thermal performance and space-saving on the PCB. The device also incorporates a range of protective features, including over-temperature protection, current limiting, and output overvoltage protection, ensuring reliable operation under adverse conditions.

With its combination of flexibility, efficiency, and compact size, the LTC3546IUFD#PBF is a versatile power solution for a wide array of applications, including portable devices, automotive electronics, and industrial systems.
