Additional Details
The SMCJ5.0A has a standoff voltage of 5.0V. It’s designed to be used in circuits where the normal operating voltage does not exceed this value. When a transient voltage exceeding the breakdown voltage occurs, the TVS diode rapidly conducts and clamps the voltage to a safe level, preventing damage to downstream components. The device is packaged in an SMC (DO-214AB) package which is suitable for surface mounting on printed circuit boards. It can operate within a temperature range of -65°C to +150°C. Refer to the Littelfuse datasheet for detailed specifications on peak pulse current (Ipp) at varying pulse durations and other relevant electrical characteristics.
