Description

The MAX529CAG is a highly integrated digital-to-analog converter (DAC) solution from Maxim Integrated, designed for precision applications requiring multiple DAC channels and low power consumption. This device is ideal for systems where space is at a premium and multiple analog outputs are needed, such as in automatic test equipment, digital offset and gain adjustment, and industrial control systems.

Featuring an 8-channel configuration, the MAX529CAG provides 12-bit resolution on each channel, ensuring fine-grain control over analog output. The DAC operates from a single +5V supply, which makes it suitable for many standard digital systems. Its serial interface is compatible with SPI, QSPI™, and MICROWIRE™ protocols, making it easily integrated into a variety of microcontroller-based systems.

The MAX529CAG offers excellent performance with its low power consumption, typically drawing only 210µA of supply current. This characteristic is particularly advantageous in battery-powered devices or power-sensitive applications. Additionally, the device incorporates a power-down feature that reduces the supply current to 4µA, further extending battery life when the DAC is not in active use.

Each DAC output is buffered with a rail-to-rail output amplifier, which allows the full-scale output voltage to swing from 0V to VREF. This feature provides users with the flexibility to set the analog output range as needed for their specific application. The reference voltage can be set externally, providing additional control over the output range and resolution.

The MAX529CAG is offered in a compact 24-pin SSOP package, which is conducive to space-constrained designs. Its extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C ensures reliable operation across diverse environmental conditions. By delivering multiple DAC channels with high precision and low power in a small footprint, the MAX529CAG stands out as a versatile component for a wide array of analog output applications.
