Additional Details
The TC74HC595AP is available in a DIP-16 (Dual In-line Package). Data is serially shifted into the 8-bit shift register on the rising edge of the shift register clock (SH_CP) input. The data in the shift register is transferred to the storage register on the rising edge of the storage register clock (ST_CP) input. The output enable (OE) input controls the 3-state outputs. When OE is LOW, the outputs are enabled; when OE is HIGH, the outputs are in a high-impedance state. The clear (MR) input asynchronously clears the shift register when brought LOW.
The supply voltage range is typically between 2V and 6V. Proper timing relationships between the clock and data signals must be maintained for reliable operation. The device is designed to be compatible with other HC series logic devices.
