The X22C10PI is a 1024-bit (128 x 8) Nonvolatile Static RAM (NVSRAM) manufactured by Xicor Inc. (later acquired by Intersil, and subsequently Renesas). It combines the features of SRAM and EEPROM, providing fast read/write access with non-volatile data storage. In normal operation, it functions as a fast SRAM. Upon power-down, data is automatically stored into the on-chip EEPROM backup.

Additional Details
The X22C10PI provides the speed of SRAM with the non-volatility of EEPROM. It functions as a standard SRAM during normal operation, allowing for fast read and write cycles. When power is lost, an automatic STORE operation is initiated, transferring the data from the SRAM to the internal EEPROM. This ensures that critical data is preserved even without a battery backup. The device is TTL compatible and operates from a single 5V supply. The EEPROM portion has a limited number of STORE cycles, but read cycles are unlimited. Data retention is guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years. Refer to the datasheet for detailed electrical specifications, timing diagrams, and application notes. The typical package is a DIP (Dual In-line Package) for ease of use in prototyping and production.
