LTC3548EMSE#PBF Dual Synchronous Step-Down DC/DC Converter

The LTC3548EMSE#PBF is an advanced dual-channel synchronous step-down DC/DC converter designed by Linear Technology to address the power management needs of modern electronic devices. This high-efficiency converter is capable of delivering up to 800mA of continuous output current per channel, making it an excellent choice for portable applications where extended battery life is crucial.

Encased in a compact MSOP-10 package, the LTC3548EMSE#PBF features independent enable pins for each channel, allowing for flexible power sequencing in complex systems. Its wide input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V makes it suitable for single-cell Li-Ion or multi-cell alkaline/NiMH applications, as well as for 3.3V or 5V intermediate bus systems.

One of the key attributes of this product is its high efficiency, which is achieved through low RDS(ON) internal switches and a constant frequency, current mode architecture. The LTC3548EMSE#PBF operates at a fixed frequency of 2.25MHz, allowing the use of tiny, low-cost capacitors and inductors while minimizing the solution footprint on the PCB.

The device incorporates Burst Mode® operation, which significantly reduces quiescent current under light loads, thus enhancing battery life in portable devices. For noise-sensitive applications, the LTC3548EMSE#PBF can be configured to provide a low noise, fixed frequency PWM mode.

Additional features include over-temperature protection, over-current protection, and a power good status output for each channel, which provides real-time feedback on the health of the power supply. The LTC3548EMSE#PBF is also designed with internal soft-start to limit inrush current during startup, further enhancing system stability and reliability.
