Description

The 74HCT374 is a high-speed Si-gate CMOS device from NXP Semiconductors. It is designed to have the same high-speed performance of LSTTL combined with the true CMOS low power consumption. This octal D-type flip-flop features a set of eight edge-triggered, D-type flip-flops with individual D inputs and O outputs. The common clock (CP) and master reset (MR) inputs control all flip-flops.

Functional Description

The 74HCT374 is an octal positive-edge triggered D-type flip-flop. The device features eight D-type flip-flops with 3-state outputs that are used for bus-oriented applications. Each flip-flop has a separate D input and O output. The common clock (CP) and master reset (MR) inputs load and reset all flip-flops simultaneously.

When the clock input is at a high level, the D input signal, present one set-up time before the low-to-high clock transition, is transferred to the Q output. The 3-state outputs are controlled by the output enable (OE) input. When the OE input is low, the outputs are in the normal mode and display the flip-flop outputs. However, when OE is high, the outputs are in the high-impedance state, allowing them to be used in bus-organized systems.
