Additional Details

The TC74ACT163 utilizes a 16-pin package. The counter advances on the rising edge of the clock pulse when both Count Enable inputs (CEP and CET) are in the high state. Clearing the counter is accomplished synchronously by holding the Clear (CLR) input low, independent of the clock. Parallel loading is enabled when the Load (LD) input is held low; the data on the A, B, C, and D inputs is loaded into the counter on the next rising clock edge. The Ripple Carry Output (RCO) goes high when the counter reaches its maximum count (15) and CET is high. This output can be used to enable the next stage in a cascaded counter configuration. This device operates with a supply voltage between 4.5V and 5.5V.
