ON Semiconductor MC74HC374ANG Octal D-Type Flip-Flop

The MC74HC374ANG is a high-performance, octal D-type flip-flop with a clear function, designed and manufactured by ON Semiconductor. This integrated circuit (IC) is part of the high-speed CMOS family and is ideal for use in a wide range of applications, from industrial to commercial, where a reliable and efficient edge-triggered data storage device is required.

Constructed with an advanced silicon-gate CMOS technology, the MC74HC374ANG offers the inherent benefits of low power dissipation and high noise immunity characteristic of CMOS circuitry, while also providing a significant upgrade in speed over its LS-TTL counterparts. The device consists of eight edge-triggered flip-flops with individual D-type inputs and 3-state true outputs. The 3-state outputs are designed for bus-oriented applications, allowing for direct connection to the bus line without the need for pull-up resistors.

The flip-flops will store the state of their individual D-inputs that meet the set-up and hold time requirements on the LOW-to-HIGH clock (CLK) transition. A LOW on the clear input (CLR) will set all the outputs to LOW independent of the other inputs. The outputs, which are designed to drive 15 LS-TTL loads, are also capable of driving up to 15 HC-TTL loads and are in the high-impedance state when the output enable (OE) is HIGH.
